The Eye Site Celebrates Pro-Vision Day at Pertapis Chldren's Home

The Eye Site recently hosted very special guests from Pertapis Children's Home, providing free eye examinations to 12 children. While two kids were given a clean bill of eye health and perfect vision, 10 others needed glasses to improve their eyesight, which we happily prescribed and dispensed!

We were especially happy to help Shakira, who had a degree of above -1,000 and did not have any glasses because her old pair was stolen. When asked how she managed with extremely blurry vision, she said, "I try to follow others around when walking and copy from others in school, since I can't see the blackboard." We're glad that Shakira can now be more independent and focus better in class.

We were also excited to join Kalin Seow, a senior optometrist from Singapore General Hospital, at Pertapis on September 29. As part of Pro-Vision Day organised by SMU student Manpreet Singh and his team, Kalin hosted an interactive eye care session with the kids and The Eye Site manager/optician Andrew Fong fitted our friends with their new spectacles. Everyone looks great in their new frames - and more importantly, their vision is now corrected so they can see better at school and at play.

Pertapis provides a loving and wholesome home for the emotional, social, physical, education and spiritual development of children who have ben separated from their families and helps them realise their full potential.
