Supporting the Teachers and Students of Katong Convent

Starting with contributing gift certificates to the Katong Convent Teacher's Day celebrations, we're continuing our support of the school by providing free eye care to all students who need our help.

When our long-time customer Myles Yow asked if we'd like to participate in Katong Convent's raffle for its Teacher's Day celebrations, we immediately said yes! Being neighbours for the last 26 years, we count many Katong Convent teachers and students as customers and patients, and wanted to pay tribute to the great job they do. Here's to you, and we hope the lucky teachers who won The Lens Men and The Eye Site gift certificates treat themselves to some eye candy at our stores!

Not forgetting the students, we met with Myles, Katong Convent principal Ms. Lam and her team to set up an ongoing program in which we'll provide free eye care to underprivileged students who aren't able to afford it on their own. Based on referrals from the school, they can easily visit The Lens Men - Parkway Parade down the road and receive a free comprehensive eye test as well as a brand new pair of spectacles to correct their vision. We've already seen our first four patients this week - just in time for the final exams soon to come. We're sure they'll perform better in other school activities as well!
